OCEAN CITY, Md.- During this pandemic, West Ocean City Injury and Illness Center said theyve made it easier and safer to get patients the care they need.

As soon as we realized that we decided to modify our operations, we decided we would meet the patients out here, Cynthia Randolph, Physicians Assistant at West Ocean City Injury and Illness Center, said.

One of the ways theyre doing that is with their curbside wellness check ups.

Heres how it works.

Patients can drive to this spot where they will then call a physician to let them know that they are here, and the physician will come out and they will triage the patient.

Physicians told us they set up some carts to transport equipment outside and with that they can take care of patients with various needs.

Weve also been seeing patients whove come in with issues of just being sick or someone that needed stitches removed, Dr. Joseph Crisanti, Medical Director at West Ocean City Injury and Illness Center, said.

They also told 47 ABC that patients have adapted well to the new routine.

They seem to be very appreciative of it and are very willing to do and to adapt to it, Dr. Crisanti said.

A lot of our patients love it, theyre asking if we are going to continue this even in the summer, Randolph said.

  I was here today & I highly recommend it. The place was clean and everyone was very friendly. The PA was very thorough and personable. He took the time to answer all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable. Every one, from the front desk staff, medical assistant, nurse, and PA were wonderful! Overall, I was very impressed by the care I received.

  They treated me very well. I went in for COVID testing – they recommended both the quick test and the PCR, as well as Flu & Strep. I was pretty sick, without fever. Doc called with positive result that same night. She clearly cared.
